Text: Genesis 43: 29-31
MEDITATION
Genesis 43:29-31
29 Then he lifted his eyes and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s son, and said, “Is this your younger brother of whom you spoke to me?” And he said, “God be gracious to you, my son.”
30 Now his heart yearned for his brother; so Joseph made haste and sought somewhere to weep. And he went into his chamber and wept there.
31 Then he washed his face and came out; and he restrained himself, and said, “Serve the bread.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Eyes on Benjamin
a. Joseph saw Benjamin.
b. He was his own flesh and blood.
c. They shared the same mother.
2. Seeking confirmation
a. He asked if this was indeed their youngest brother.
b. The brothers must have answered him in the affirmative.
3. Tender greeting to Benjamin
a. He called him “Son”.
b. Joseph had not seen Benjamin for many years.
4. Unbearable wave of emotions
a. Joseph had a deep love for his younger brother.
b. The other brothers had been mean to him, but not Benjamin.
He had to master his emotions.
5. Joseph’s private rooms
a. On his own now, Joseph gave vent to his emotions.
b. He wept out all the emotions he had held in check for all these years.
6. He returned to host the lunch
All wept out, Joseph returned to host the lunch he had prepared for his family of brothers.

29约瑟举目看见他同母的兄弟便雅悯，就说：“你们向我所说那顶小的兄弟就是这位吗？”又说：“小儿啊，愿神赐恩给你！”
30约瑟爱弟之情发动，就急忙寻找可哭之地，进入自己的屋里，哭了一场。31他洗了脸出来，勉强隐忍，吩咐人摆饭。
