Text: Genesis 28: 13-15
MEDITATION
Genesis 28:13-15
13 And behold, the LORD stood above it and said: “I am the LORD God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants.
14 Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.
15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. A special appearance of the LORD
a. The LORD stood above all the angels and their activities.
b. He introduced Himself to Jacob.
i. He is the God of Abraham.
ii. And also, the God of Isaac.
2. A glorious promise given concerning the land of Canaan
a. The land upon which Jacob was lying would be given to him.
b. It would become the heritage of his descendants.
3. A promise of many descendants
a. Jacob was not even married at this point of time.
b. The promise of many descendants was therefore significant.
c. They would cover land north, south, east and west (Canaan in mind..
3. A promise of blessing to all families on earth
a. The blessings of God are not just physical.
b. The blessings are also spiritual and many families on earth would be blessed through his seed.
4. A promise of special and personal protection
The LORD would especially watch over Jacob from this moment on. He would never leave him until these promises were fulfilled!

13 耶和华站在梯子以上，说：“我是耶和华你祖亚伯拉罕的神，也是以撒的神，我要将你现在所躺卧之地赐给你和你的后裔。
14 你的后裔必像地上的尘沙那样多，必向东西南北开展。地上万族必因你和你的后裔得福。15 我也与你同在，你无论往哪里去，我必保佑你，领你归回这地，总不离弃你，直到我成全了向你所应许的。”
