Text: Genesis 24: 33-36
MEDITATION
Genesis 24:33-36
33 Food was set before him to eat, but he said, “I will not eat until I have told about my errand.”
And he said, “Speak on.”
34 So he said, “I am Abraham’s servant.
35 The LORD has blessed my master greatly, and he has become great; and He has given him flocks and herds, silver and gold, male and female servants, and camels and donkeys.
36 And Sarah my master’s wife bore a son to my master when she was old; and to him he has given all that he has.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The offer of a meal
a. Honour was shown to the chief steward of Abraham.
b. Respect was shown in every way possible, including offering him a meal.
2. A truly devoted servant
a. He refused to eat till he had spoken of his errand given to him.
b. He identified himself humbly as “Abraham’s servant”.
3. Speaking of the LORD and His grace given to Abraham
a. The LORD’s blessings were acknowledged.
b. Highlights of God’s blessings:
i. God had blessed greatly. Abraham had become great.
ii. He owned flocks, herds, camels and donkeys.
iii. He also possessed silver and gold.
iv. Sarah had given birth to a son.
v. He is the heir of all that Abraham possessed.

33 把饭摆在他面前,叫他吃。他却说:“我不吃,等我说明白我的事情再吃。”拉班说:“请说。”
34 他说:“我是亚伯拉罕的仆人。
35 耶和华大大地赐福给我主人,使他昌大,又赐给他羊群、牛群、金银、仆婢、骆驼和驴。36 我主人的妻子撒拉年老的时候给我主人生了一个儿子,我主人也将一切所有的都给了这个儿子。
