Text: Genesis 19: 9-11
MEDITATION
Genesis 19:9-11
9 And they said, “Stand back!” Then they said, “This one came in to stay here, and he keeps acting as a judge; now we will deal worse with you than with them.” So they pressed hard against the man Lot, and came near to break down the door.
10 But the men reached out their hands and pulled Lot into the house with them, and shut the door.
11 And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The response of the men of Sodom
a. They demanded that Lot should “stand back”.
i. They rejected his advice.
ii. They also rejected his offer of his daughters.
b. Their comments about Lot:
i. They saw him as “a foreigner”.
ii. He was only a resident there rather than a citizen.
iii. They resented his judgmental approach.
c. A word of warning
i. They warned Lot that they would harm him.
ii. They would do worse things to him than to his guests.
2. The protection from the angelic guests
a. They pulled Lot back into his house and shut the door.
b. They struck the wicked men with physical blindness.
c. Both small and great still tried finding the door of Lot and breaking in but failed.

9 众人说：“退去吧！”又说：“这个人来寄居，还想要做官哪！现在我们要害你比害他们更甚。”众人就向前拥挤罗得，要攻破房门。
10 只是那二人伸出手来，将罗得拉进屋去，把门关上。11 并且使门外的人，无论老少，眼都昏迷，他们摸来摸去，总寻不着房门。
