Text: Genesis 19: 1-3
MEDITATION
Genesis 19:1-3
1 Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them, and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground.
2 And he said, “Here now, my lords, please turn in to your servant’s house and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.”
And they said, “No, but we will spend the night in the open square.”
3 But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. “The two angels”
a. They went to Sodom on their own.
b. It was evening when they reached the city.
2. “Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom”
a. This was the commercial area of the city.
b. Lot was still there working at the city gate.
c. He spotted the two angels who were new to the city.
3. Hospitality shown
a. Lot spoke humbly to the two angels.
b. He addressed them with due regard.
i. He bowed himself with his face to the ground.
ii. He invited them to stay the night in his house.
iii. He would attend to their needs.
4. The angels declined the invitation initially. But Lot insisted and they assented to stay in his home finally.
5. Lot prepared “a feast” for his guests. Unleavened bread was served.

1那两个天使晚上到了所多玛。罗得正坐在所多玛城门口，看见他们，就起来迎接，脸伏于地下拜，
2说：“我主啊，请你们到仆人家里洗洗脚，住一夜，清早起来再走。”他们说：“不，我们要在街上过夜。”3罗得切切地请他们，他们这才进去到他屋里。罗得为他们预备筵席，烤无酵饼，他们就吃了。
