Text: Exodus 5: 20-23
MEDITATION
Exodus 5:20-23
20 Then, as they came out from Pharaoh, they met Moses and Aaron who stood there to meet them.
21 And they said to them, “Let the LORD look on you and judge, because you have made us abhorrent in the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to kill us.”
22 So Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Lord, why have You brought trouble on this people? Why is it You have sent me?
23 For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in Your name, he has done evil to this people; neither have You delivered Your people at all.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. A meeting with Moses and Aaron
a. The leaders of the children of Israel had met the Pharaoh.
b. Moses and Aaron met them after their meeting.
c. The leaders were angry with Moses and Aaron.
i. They were blamed for causing so much more hardship.
ii. They feared that they would be killed by the Egyptians.
iii. They said that God would judge them for this new trouble they were now facing.
2. Moses was greatly discouraged as he prayed to the LORD
a. He asked the LORD why He had brought even more trouble to the children of Israel.
b. Why had the LORD sent him?
c. Moses had done his part.
i. He had spoken to the Pharaoh in His name.
ii. But he had not responded positively.
iii. In fact, he had done even more evil.
iv. God had not delivered His people as He had promised.
v. This prayer was poured out of a heart of great discouragement.

20他们离了法老出来,正遇见摩西、亚伦站在对面,
21就向他们说:“愿耶和华鉴察你们,施行判断!因你们使我们在法老和他臣仆面前有了臭名,把刀递在他们手中杀我们。”
22摩西回到耶和华那里,说:“主啊,你为什么苦待这百姓呢?为什么打发我去呢?23自从我去见法老,奉你的名说话,他就苦待这百姓,你一点也没有拯救他们。”
