Text: Exodus 3: 20-22
MEDITATION
Exodus 3:20-22
20 So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in its midst; and after that he will let you go.
21 And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty-handed.
22 But every woman shall ask of her neighbour, namely, of her who dwells near her house, articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing; and you shall put them on your sons and on your daughters. So you shall plunder the Egyptians.”
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. God’s plan revealed to Moses
a. He will stretch out His hand and strike Egypt.
b. He will perform wonders (miraculous signs).
c. The Pharaoh would let the children of Israel leave Egypt finally.
2. Exodus from Egypt
a. The children of Israel would have favour (regard. from the Egyptians.
b. They will not leave Egypt empty-handed.
i. They had worked as slaves for many years!
ii. They would be paid for their labour.
c. The women folk could ask from the Egyptians the following things:
i. Articles of silver
ii. Articles of gold
iii. Clothing
iv. These could be given to their children (they had next to nothing).
3. Plundering the Egyptians
a. This does not mean “looting”.
b. It means that the Egyptians would give to the children of Israel all that they requested.
c. The amount they would give would be as if they had been plundered!

20 我必伸手在埃及中间施行我一切的奇事,攻击那地,然后他才容你们去。
21 我必叫你们在埃及人眼前蒙恩,你们去的时候就不至于空手而去。22 但各妇女必向她的邻舍并居住在她家里的女人要金器银器和衣裳,好给你们的儿女穿戴,这样你们就把埃及人的财物夺去了。”
