Text: Exodus 3: 7-8
MEDITATION
Exodus 3:7-8
7 And the LORD said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.
8 So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. “And the LORD said”
a. This would become a familiar phrase.
b. This was God speaking to Moses.
2. The Word of the LORD
a. God had seen the oppression of His people in Egypt.
b. He had heard their cries because of the affliction caused by the taskmasters.
c. He understands their sorrows (This is the meaning of the word “know”).
3. The action that God has planned
a. He will come down to deliver His people.
b. He will bring them to a good land.
i. It will be a large land.
ii. A land flowing with milk and honey.
(Meaning: It will be a fruitful land that will yield much fruit when cultivated.)
c. Identification of the land.
i. It was the land of the Canaanites.
ii. It was a land inhabited by the Hittites.
iii. There were also Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites residing there.
d. This was the land that God promised to give to Abraham (Genesis 15:18-21).
i. God had not forgotten what He had promised Abraham.
ii. He had foretold that his descendants would dwell in a foreign nation for four generations.
iii. They would then be delivered (Genesis 15:13-14).
iv. That moment of delivery had come.

7耶和华说:“我的百姓在埃及所受的困苦,我实在看见了;他们因受督工的辖制所发的哀声,我也听见了。我原知道他们的痛苦。8我下来是要救他们脱离埃及人的手,领他们出了那地,到美好宽阔、流奶与蜜之地,就是到迦南人、赫人、亚摩利人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人之地。
