Text: Exodus 29: 19-21
MEDITATION
Exodus 29:19-21
19 “You shall also take the other ram, and Aaron and his sons shall put their hands on the head of the ram.
20 Then you shall kill the ram, and take some of its blood and put it on the tip of the right ear of Aaron and on the tip of the right ear of his sons, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood all around on the altar.
21 And you shall take some of the blood that is on the altar, and some of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it on Aaron and on his garments, on his sons and on the garments of his sons with him; and he and his garments shall be hallowed, and his sons and his sons’ garments with him.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The third animal to be sacrificed was the second ram.
2. Same ceremony: Killing of the ram.
a. The hands of Aaron and his sons were to be placed on the head of the ram.
b. The ram would then be killed and the blood put on the altar.
c. This speaks of identification.
3. Taking blood from the altar. The blood was to be applied to Aaron and his sons.
a. Blood was to be applied to the right ear.
To dedicate the ear to hear the Lord’s voice humbly.
b. Blood was also to be applied to the right thumb.
To dedicate the hands to do the work of the Lord faithfully.
c. Blood was also to be applied to the right toe.
To dedicate their walk with the Lord obediently.
4. Blood and oil would be sprinkled on the garments of the priests.
a. They were to be combined here.
b. Oil speaks of the Spirit of God.
c. Blood speaks of cleansing and consecration.
d. The priests must serve the Lord:
i. With consecration
ii. With holiness
iii. With awe in their hearts
Service to the Lord is sacred and must never be mechanically performed!

19“你要将那一只公绵羊牵来,亚伦和他儿子要按手在羊的头上。
20你要宰这羊,取点血抹在亚伦的右耳垂上和他儿子的右耳垂上,又抹在他们右手的大拇指上和右脚的大拇指上,并要把血洒在坛的四围。21你要取点膏油和坛上的血,弹在亚伦和他的衣服上,并他儿子和他儿子的衣服上,他们和他们的衣服就一同成圣。”
