Text: Exodus 25: 17-22
MEDITATION
Exodus 25:17-22
17 “You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two and a half cubits shall be its length and a cubit and a half its width.
18 And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work you shall make them at the two ends of the mercy seat.
19 Make one cherub at one end, and the other cherub at the other end; you shall make the cherubim at the two ends of it of one piece with the mercy seat.
20 And the cherubim shall stretch out their wings above, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and they shall face one another; the faces of the cherubim shall be toward the mercy seat.
21 You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you.
22 And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. The Mercy Seat
a. This reflected the mercy of God.
b. His mercy is badly needed in life.
i. In times of trouble.
ii. When we seek forgiveness of our sins.
2. The cherubim
a. These are mighty angels.
b. They serve the Lord.
c. They are always in His presence.
3. In the Ark
a. Moses would be given the tablets of stone.
b. These are called “The Testimony”.
c. They represent the Law of God.
4. The Meeting Place
a. God would meet with Moses at the Mercy Seat.
b. He would speak to Moses above the Mercy Seat.
c. The presence of the Testimony reflects the important place of God’s word.
5. When we come into the Presence of God, we are to bear in mind the following things:
a. The greatness of God
He has mighty angels serving Him.
b. The holiness of God
c. The Mercy of God
d. The Word of God to enlighten us

17 要用精金做施恩座，长二肘半，宽一肘半。
18 要用金子锤出两个基路伯来，安在施恩座的两头。
19 这头做一个基路伯，那头做一个基路伯，二基路伯要接连一块，在施恩座的两头。 20 二基路伯要高张翅膀，遮掩施恩座。基路伯要脸对脸，朝着施恩座。
21 要将施恩座安在柜的上边，又将我所要赐给你的法版放在柜里。22 我要在那里与你相会，又要从法柜施恩座上二基路伯中间，和你说我所要吩咐你传给以色列人的一切事。
