Text: Exodus 19: 7-9
MEDITATION
Exodus 19:7-9
7 Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the LORD commanded him.
8 Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the LORD has spoken we will do.” So Moses brought back the words of the people to the LORD.
9 And the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in the thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and believe you forever.” So Moses told the words of the people to the LORD.
MEANINGFUL APPLICATION TO LIFE
1. Moses addressing the elders of the people
a. Israel became more organized.
b. Elders of the people were appointed.
c. They would help teach the commandments of the LORD.
d. He laid before the elders all that God had spoken to him.
2. The response of the people
a. The elders would have instructed the people.
b. They were ready to make an appropriate response.
c. Their answer was straightforward.
“All that the LORD has spoken we will do”
i. They promised full obedience.
ii. The word of God would be heeded and obeyed.
3. A further word from the LORD
a. He would come in a cloud.
b. He would speak to the children of Israel directly.
c. This would confirm that God was indeed real and He had spoken to Moses.
d. This was a special way of strengthening the ministry of Moses.
e. The people needed to believe in Moses much more.

7摩西去召了民间的长老来，将耶和华所吩咐他的话都在他们面前陈明。
8百姓都同声回答说：“凡耶和华所说的，我们都要遵行。”摩西就将百姓的话回复耶和华。9耶和华对摩西说：“我要在密云中临到你那里，叫百姓在我与你说话的时候可以听见，也可以永远信你了。”于是，摩西将百姓的话奏告耶和华。
