Day 47

"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts"

Text: Isaiah 6:3

REMEMBERING GOD’S CALLING

Isaiah’s ministry was a difficult one. Judah was caught up with great wickedness. His messages from the LORD were not heeded. He must have felt discouragement. Isaiah took to remember his calling from the LORD.

“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne,
high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.
Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings:
with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.
And one cried to another and said:
‘Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!'”
Isaiah 6:1-3

c) His glory filled the temple of heaven.

3. He saw seraphim attending to the LORD.

a) Seraphim are powerful angels.

b) Their wings represented their power.

c) Though they were mighty, yet they were only serving the LORD.

4. The declaration of the seraphim.

a) They declared the profound holiness of the LORD.

b) They also proclaimed His great glory.

God’s holiness and His glory.
