Day 440

"No weapon formed against you shall prosper"

Text: Isaiah 54:17

THE LORD’S PROMISE OF PROTECTION

The LORD’s protection of Israel was of great importance. Without divine protection Israel would be very vulnerable!

“‘Behold, I have created the blacksmith
Who blows the coals in the fire,
Who brings forth an instrument for his work;
And I have created the spoiler to destroy.
No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
And their righteousness is from Me,’
Says the LORD.”
Isaiah 54:16-17

1. God as Creator.

a) He has created the world.

b) He has also created mankind.

i) The blacksmith is also created by the LORD.

ii) He can make weapons of war.

iii) The person who ends up being a destroyer is also but a creature of God.

iv) His bent to becoming “a spoiler” is because of sin corrupting the individual.

v) He is still subject to the LORD the Creator.

2. The heritage of the servant of God.

a) No weapon formed against him will prosper.

b) Every tongue that rises up will be judged and condemned.

c) This would be a special way of protecting the servant of the LORD.

d) This is a heritage that is given by the LORD to His servant.

3. The righteousness of the LORD.

a) This would be imputed by the LORD.

b) The servant of God would stand righteous before Him.

c) This was another special blessing from God.
