"I will place salvation in Zion"

Text: Isaiah 46:13

THE SALVATION PLAN OF GOD

The LORD had promised deliverance for Israel. He would send King Cyrus of the Medo-Persian Empire. He would cause Israel to be released from captivity in Babylon.

“Listen to Me, you stubborn-hearted,
Who are far from righteousness:
I bring My righteousness near, it shall not be far off;
My salvation shall not linger.
And I will place salvation in Zion,
For Israel My glory.”
Isaiah 46:12-13

1. There were those who resisted.

a) They remained stubborn-hearted.

b) They were “far from righteousness”.

i) Unbelief was deep.

ii) Idolatry had been practised for too long.

iii) Faith in the LORD was absent.

iv) Many had chosen to be stubborn in heart.

2. God’s plan of Deliverance.

a) This was reiterated.

b) He would bring His righteousness near.

c) This was a reference to the salvation plan of God.

d) He would fulfil His word of promise.

e) His counsel would come to pass!

3. Salvation would be given:

a) To Zion.

b) To Israel.

c) God continued to regard Zion as “My glory”.
