"Truly You are God, who hide Yourself"

Text: Isaiah 45:15

A GREAT PROMISE OF THE LORD

Israel was under threat from Assyria. Judah, in turn would be overcome by the Babylonians. God gave a tremendous word of promise to look beyond Assyria and Babylon. The Medes and Persians under Kling Cyrus would see Judah return to their homeland!

“Thus says the LORD:
‘The labour of Egypt and merchandise of Cush
And of the Sabeans, men of stature,
Shall come over to you, and they shall be yours;
They shall walk behind you,
They shall come over in chains;
And they shall bow down to you.
They will make supplication to you, saying, ‘Surely God is in you,
And there is no other;
There is no other God.”
Truly You are God, who hide Yourself,
O God of Israel, the Saviour!”
Isaiah 45:14-15
