"My Servant whom I uphold"

Text: Isaiah 42:1

THE MESSIANIC SERVANT

Israel was called a servant of the LORD (Isaiah 41:8). But sadly, Israel failed to live up to expectations. Worse, Israel turned away from God to worship idols. The LORD gave a prophetic word concerning the Messiah. He would exemplify what it means to be a faithful and true Servant of God! He may be the Messiah but He would humbly serve as God’s Servant!

“Behold! My Servant whom I uphold,
My Elect One in whom My soul delights!
I have put My Spirit upon Him;
He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
He will not cry out, nor raise His voice,
Nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.”
