"Behold the land of the Chaldeans"

Text: Isaiah 23:13

THE CHALDEANS

They were an ancient race who lived in Mesopotamia. The patriarch Abraham left Ur of the Chaldeans when God called him to leave everything and follow Him in faith to Canaan.

In this text, The Chaldeans were linked with the Assyrians before it became a world power.

“Behold, the land of the Chaldeans,
This people which was not;
Assyria founded it for wild beasts of the desert.
They set up its towers,
They raised up its palaces,
And brought it to ruin.
Wail, you ships of Tarshish!
For your strength is laid waste.”
