"Sing to the LORD"
Text: Isaiah 12:5
EVERY REASON TO SING TO THE LORD
Isaiah encouraged Judah to sing to the LORD in the light of the salvation that He will give to His people. A few reasons were highlighted.
“And in that day you will say:
‘Praise the LORD, call upon His name;
Declare His deeds among the peoples,
Make mention that His name is exalted.
Sing to the LORD,
For He has done excellent things;
This is known in all the earth.
Cry out and shout, O inhabitant of Zion,
For great is the Holy One of Israel in your midst!'”
Isaiah 12:4-6
1. Four things that must be given due consideration:
a) To offer praise to the LORD.
b) To pray to God calling upon His name.
c) To declare all the deeds God has done among all peoples.
d) To mention that God’s name is an exalted one!
2. Strong encouragement to sing to the LORD.
a) He has done excellent things indeed.
b) What God had done was known in all the earth.
c) This was something to rejoice in and sing about.
3. The call to all who were dwelling in Zion.
a) To have an exuberant faith.
b) To cry out and shout to the Lord in praise.
c) The reason is obvious!
i) The greatness of the LORD.
ii) The LORD is in the midst of His people.
