VITAL INSIGHTS ABOUT THE MESSIAH

What else may be known about the Messianic Ruler? The following text offers vital insights about the Messianic Ruler.

“His delight is in the fear of the LORD,
And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes,
Nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
But with righteousness He shall judge the poor,
And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins,
And faithfulness the belt of His waist.”
Isaiah 11:3-5

1. What would be His delight?

a) Many rulers delight in becoming famous or powerful.

b) The Messianic Ruler’s delight is in the “Fear of the LORD”.

i) This speaks of deep reverence for God.

ii) This “Fear of the LORD” is one of love and highest esteem.

2. How would He judge and make decisions?

a) Meaning of “And He shall not judge by the sight of His eyes”.

i) He will not be superficial.

ii) He will not do things casually.

b) Meaning of “Nor decide by the hearing of His ears”.

i) He will not respond to “hearsay”.

ii) He will consider all matters deeply and thoroughly.

5. What are two especially outstanding features that may be noted in His reign?

a) Righteousness and Faithfulness.

b) They are compared to the belt that the Messiah would wear.
