"Of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain..."

Text: Hebrews 5:11

MUCH TO DISCOVER ABOUT JESUS

The author indeed had much to contribute concerning the Person and Ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ! The following text reinforces this thought.

“Of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain,
since you have become dull of hearing.”
Hebrews 5:11

1. Of whom we have much to say

Some of the most significant things highlighted by the author of Hebrews are the following:-

a) His teaching on the Sonship of Jesus:-
i) His unique and eternal relationship with His Father.
ii) His glorious identification with mankind.
iii) His High Priesthood.
b) His teaching on the High Priesthood of Jesus:-
i) The contrast between the Aaronic and the Melchizedek high priesthood.
ii) The superior system of the High Priesthood of Christ.
iii) The glorious Person of the High Priest Himself.
iv) The uplifting ramifications of the High Priesthood of Christ.

2. And hard to explain

There are reasons why it is hard to expound on these things:-

a) The above concepts are deeply profound.
b) They were not dealt with in depth:-
i) In the Old Testament
ii) By the Gospel writers
iii) By the New Testament writers (epistles)

It fell upon the author of Hebrews to expound these challenging concepts.
