"Sit at My right hand..."

Text: Hebrews 1:13

A CORRECT APPRECIATION OF ANGELS

The author has made a number of reference to angels (Hebrews 1). It is important that we do not end up with a wrong comprehension of the significance of angels and their ministry!

1. They are powerful spirit beings.

2. They are mighty messengers of God.

3. They stand before the Presence of God.

a) To worship Him
b) To do his bidding
c) To come to the defence of God’s children
d) To wage spiritual warfare mightily in the mighty name of God

4. We must not end up with the wrong concept.

a) We must not end up despising angels.
b) We must not end up thinking that they have hardly any significance in God’s sight.
c) We must not think that man is higher (in rank or in being) than angels.

ANOTHER SIGNIFICANT COMPARISON MADE

The point of all these comparisons must be clearly borne in mind at all times. God wants us to bear in mind the greatness of His Son!

“But to which of the angels has He ever said,
‘Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool’?”
Hebrews 1:13

1. No angel was ever appointed to sit at God’s right hand.

2. The only One who sits at the right hand of power is the Co-creator, the Son of God.

3. God will personally deal with all the enemies of the Son personally.

4. He will conquer all enemies and make them nothing more than the footstool of His only begotten Son!
