"We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."

Text: Romans 8:37

MORE THAN CONQUERORS

The Apostle Paul was an outstanding example of what it means to live in the power of God. He shares with us how we can live triumphantly.

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors
through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels
nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things
to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing,
shall be able to separate us from the love of God
which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:37-39

1. “Yet in all these things”

a) The context is that of tribulation and sufferings (Romans 8:35-36).
b) The strong believer is unafraid of all these problems and challenges of life.

2. “We are more than conquerors”

a) This is a great confidence that we may have.
b) This is more than possible.

3. “Through Him who loved us”

a) That God loves us is indisputable.
b) Through this God who loves us we can be more than conquerors in life’s harshest circumstances.

4. “I am persuaded”

a) Paul used the Perfect Tense to good effect.
b) This persuasion in his heart was confirmed a long time ago.
c) He now writes with the confidence that ensues from being “persuaded” of God’s love.

5. Nothing will separate us from the love of God

a) This love is most wonderfully evidenced in Christ Jesus.
b) Let us be similarly persuaded that absolutely nothing will adversely affect God’s love for us.

BEARING A POWERFUL TESTIMONY IN THE WORLD

As we conclude our study on “Filled with the Holy Spirit” let us be greatly challenged to bear good testimony of what we have learned.

“For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience
that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity
and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the
grace of God…”
2 Corinthians 1:12
