"This is the Most Holy Place"

Text: Ezekiel 41:4

THE MILLENNIAL SANCTUARY

When God gave the plans to Moses to build the Tabernacle, great attention was paid to the construction of the Sanctuary. The same attention was given to the building of the Millennial Sanctuary.

“Then he brought me into the sanctuary and measured the doorposts, six cubits wide on one side and six cubits wide on the other side—the width of the tabernacle. The width of the entryway was ten cubits, and the side walls of the entrance were five cubits on this side and five cubits on the other side; and he measured its length, forty cubits, and its width, twenty cubits. Also he went inside and measured the doorposts, two cubits; and the entrance, six cubits high; and the width of the entrance, seven cubits. He measured the length, twenty cubits; and the width, twenty cubits, beyond the sanctuary; and he said to me, ‘This is the Most Holy Place.'”
Ezekiel 41:1-4

1. There were two parts.

a) The Holy Place.

i) This was restricted to the priests.

ii) Worshippers were to use the Courtyard outside the Holy Place.

iii) This was often called “the sanctuary” (Ezekiel 41:1).

b) The Most Holy Place.

i) This was reserved for the High Priest.

ii) Only he would be allowed to enter into the Most Holy Place.

iii) This was “beyond the sanctuary” (Ezekiel 41:4).

2. The significance of the Most Holy Place.

a) It would accentuate the place of the Messianic High Priest, the Lord Jesus Christ.

b) He is the Only One who has the right to have full access to the Most Holy Place.

c) The role of the Lord Jesus Christ must ever remain most significant to us for His role as our Mediator between God and men.
