"There are Meshech and Tubal"

Text: Ezekiel 32:26

MESHECH AND TUBAL

These were ancient nations. They too were involved in the war with the Assyrians. Unfortunately, they suffered a severe defeat at the hands of the Assyrians.

“There are Meshech and Tubal and all their multitudes,
With all their graves around it,
All of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword,
Though they caused their terror in the land of the living.
They do not lie with the mighty
Who are fallen of the uncircumcised,
Who have gone down to hell with their weapons of war;
They have laid their swords under their heads,
But their iniquities will be on their bones,
Because of the terror of the mighty in the land of the living.
Yes, you shall be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised,
And lie with those slain by the sword.”
Ezekiel 32:26-28

1. The defeat of Meshech and Tubal.

a) These two nations also had large armies.

b) But they were also defeated by the Assyrians.

c) In their hey days, they were strong.

d) But for all their might, they were defeated by the Assyrians.

e) Many had fallen to the Assyrian sword.

2. The fate of these two ancient nations.

a) They were no longer listed among the mighty.

b) They were among the uncircumcised fallen.

c) They were now consigned to hell.

d) All their weapons lay beside them in their graves.

e) Their iniquities would be upon them.

f) The Pharaoh of Egypt would see all his allies dead and in hell with him.
