"I will stir up your lovers against you"

Text: Ezekiel 23:22

JERUSALEM’S FOLLY

Jerusalem coveted wealth and power. She had an insatiable appetite and thus sought alliance with many nations. Jerusalem did not realise that these nations were not under her influence or control. Her folly would be her undoing!

“Therefore, Oholibah, thus says the Lord God:
‘Behold, I will stir up your lovers against you,
From whom you have alienated yourself,
And I will bring them against you from every side:
The Babylonians,
All the Chaldeans,
Pekod, Shoa, Koa,
All the Assyrians with them,
All of them desirable young men,
Governors and rulers,
Captains and men of renown,
All of them riding on horses.'”
