Text: Exodus 31 : 1-2, 6

PLANS FOR THE TABERNACLE COMPLETELY GIVEN

God had now given all the plans for the construction of the Tabernacle. Instructions were also given as to how the high priest and his assistants should minister.

ANOTHER SET OF SERVANTS

While the priests would dedicate their lives to serve the Lord in the Tabernacle ministry, other servants of God need to rise up to help erect the Tent of meeting. God had in mind two men who would take over the responsibility of making all the things needed for tabernacle worship! The two men identified were not from the tribe of Levi.

“Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
‘See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur,
of the tribe of Judah…
And I, indeed I, have appointed with him Aholiab the son of
Ahimsamach, of the tribe of Dan…'”
EXODUS 31:1-2, 6

ANOTHER KIND OF MINISTRY

Great skills were needed to create the things God wanted for the furnishings of the Tabernacle. Only He could give to the people He called, the skills needed to attempt and to accomplish all the beautiful things He desired for the Tabernacle ministry.

“And I have filled him (Bezalel) with the Spirit of God,
in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner
of workmanship…
“And I have put wisdom in the hearts of all the gifted artisans,
that they may make all that I have commanded you…'”
EXODUS 31:3, 6B

1. The Team Leaders

The artisans would be led by Bezalel and Aholiab. Their leadership would be by:-

a) Appointment from the Lord
b) By sheer knowledge and artistic skills

2. Gifted artisans

God would see to it that these artisans would have all the combined skills needed to make “the tabernacle of meeting, the ark of the Testimony and the mercy seat that is on it, and all the furniture of the tabernacle… (right up to) the anointing oil and sweet incense for the holy place” (Exodus 31:7-11)!
