Day 107

"To whom then will you liken Me, or to whom shall I be equal?' says the Holy One." Isaiah 40:25

Text: Exodus 14 : 15-16

 SEEKING THE LORD

Moses was right to encourage the children of Israel to trust the Lord. But having said that, what should he do next? What was the real solution to the dilemma they were in?

AN AMAZING REPLY FROM THE LORD

Did God expect Moses to come up with an answer? Did He want Moses to suggest a solution to the problem at hand? There was none forthcoming! The situation was just too complex for Moses to offer any suggestion.

“And the LORD said to Moses,
‘Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel
to go forward.'”
EXODUS 14:15

Did God have a twinkle in His eye as He said those words? They couldn’t fight the Egyptian army! What was the only alternative? “Go forward!” But there was the Sea wasn’t there? God was not angry with Moses! He knew how this servant of His still had a long way to go in understanding just how powerful He really was! He would take time to explain to Moses how He was going to resolve the perplexing dilemma that confronted them!

GOD KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE WOULD DO NEXT!

The children must have felt that they had walked into a trap! There did not seem to be an escape route! Moses went one better. He knew that they must trust that God would fight for them! But he too did not have a clue as to what practical steps he could take! But man’s bemusement does not reflect God’s perspective. Kindly, the Lord explained to Moses what He wanted him to do next! And it was an amazing solution indeed! Israel would cross the sea dry-shod!

“But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea
and divide it. And the children of Israel shall go on dry ground
through the midst of the sea.”
EXODUS 14:16

1. God is not bound by man’s limitations

There were many lessons God wanted both Moses and Israel to learn! They must never give in to despair when they are unable to come up with solutions! They must know that God was not limited by human limitations!

2. God will come up with a perfect Solution all the time

God was going to do something totally unexpected! He was going to provide a perfect solution! His solutions are always perfect! His ways are certainly not our ways and His thoughts are far higher! What He wants from His children is to have a greater faith and trust in Him!
