"I charge you therefore before God..."

Text: 2 Timothy 4:1

ANOTHER SOLEMN CHARGE GIVEN

The apostle Paul was coming to an end of his second epistle to Timothy. He had already given many important words of advice. He knew the challenges that Timothy had to face! Timothy must not fail in his ministry as a servant of God!

“I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ,
who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom.”

2 Timothy 4:1

1. “I charge you”

a) The word “charge” was a solemn admonition.

a) This is a clear reference to the Lord Jesus Christ.
b) Jesus testified that God had given the authority of judging to Him (John 5:22).
