"The Lord delivered me."

Text: 2 Timothy 3:11

THE DELIVERANCE OF THE LORD

The Scriptures abound with glorious deliverance stories. The apostle Paul was one more person who testified of the Lord’s deliverance in his life.

“And out of them all the Lord delivered me.”
2 Timothy 3:11

DIVINE DELIVERANCE

The following are famous deliverance accounts:-

1. Moses

He was delivered from being slain by the Egyptians when he was a baby (Exodus 2).

2. Daniel

He was delivered from being devoured by lions (Daniel 6).

3. Peter was delivered from prison (Acts 12).

4. Paul was delivered from death when he was stoned at Lystra (Acts 14).

HOW SHOULD WE UNDERSTAND DIVINE DELIVERANCE TODAY?

Let us ponder the following thoughts:

1. Does God divinely deliver people today?

In a word, “Yes!”

2. Will He always deliver everyone?

To put it candidly, “No!”

3. In what circumstances would God send divine deliverance?

a) When we are doing His will.
b) When God chooses to deliver out of His sovereign design.
c) When it would bring glory to Him.

4. In what circumstances would God not give divine deliverance?

a) When we put God to the test.
b) When we foolishly put ourselves out on a limb.
c) When we act presumptuously.

5. What if there is no Divine Deliverance?

a) We must not lose our faith.
b) We must learn to endure our suffering.
c) We must learn deep lessons of faith and life.
d) We must learn to commit our souls to the Lord.
