"We are not disqualified."

Text: 2 Corinthians 13:6

UNAFRAID TO BE EVALUATED

Paul was unafraid of having his faith examined and tested! He was confident that life and ministry would pass any test administered.

“But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified.”
2 Corinthians 13:6

1. What are some tests that may be used to check out a person’s faith?

Four considerations:

a) Confession of Christ Jesus doctrinally.
i) That Jesus is the Christ
ii) He came in the flesh.
iii) He is the Son of God.
iv) He is the Saviour.
v) He is Lord.
vi) He will come again.
vii) He will set up the Millennial Kingdom.
b) Changes in life
i) Repentance
ii) Rejection of the old sinful ways
iii) Rejoicing in the Lord
c) Serving the Lord
i) Serving Him faithfully.
ii) Bearing fruit in service.
d) Christian character
i) The fruit of the Spirit.
ii) Conformity to the image of Christ.

2. “But I trust that you will know that we are not disqualified”

a) Paul was confident that he and his fellow-workers would not be found “disqualified”.
b) His life reflected the work of redemption God wrought in his life.
c) Paul’s life and ministry were plainly displayed to all at Corinth.
d) The Corinthians are free to examine Paul in any way they wished.
e) But they would find that his life matched the gospel message he proclaimed powerfully.
