"No other foundation..."
Text: 1 Corinthians 3:11
LAYING A SOLID FOUNDATION
It was the Lord Jesus Christ who taught His disciples to ponder the importance of laying a foundation built upon solid rock. His teachings would be that strong and certain foundation (Matthew 7:24-27). Paul was in absolute agreement.
“For no other foundation can anyone lay
than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
1 Corinthians 3:11
1. “No other foundation can anyone lay”
a) The unwary may think that all foundations are similar or even alike.
b) Every foundation must be carefully and thoroughly examined.
i) Whether it is sand.
ii) Whether it is rock.
2. “Than that which is laid”
a) The Lord Jesus Christ laid the foundations for His disciples.
b) They in turn laid the foundations
i) For the believer.
ii) For the church.
3. “Which is Jesus Christ”
a) His place of honour is called “the chief cornerstone”.
b) His teachings are inseparable from His Being.
