FEATURES OF THE JUDGMENT WHEN THE LORD JESUS RETURNS

1. The Return of the Son of Man

a) He will return in glory (Matthew 25:31)

c) He will be seated on a throne of glory (Matthew 25:31c)

2. Who will stand before the Lord?

a) All the nations of the world (Matthew 25:32a)

b) The sheep on His right hand (Matthew 25:33a)

LESSONS FROM THIS PARABLE

1. The Righteous

a) Those who are declared “righteous”
i) Justified by faith (Romans 5:1)
ii) Imputed righteousness (Romans 4:3) (Example of Abraham)
iii) No condemnation (Romans 8:1)
b) Expressions of the truly righteous
i) There will be a heart of compassion
ii) There will be practical care for people in need

2. The Unrighteous

a) They have not come to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
b) They do not have imputed righteousness
c) They will be judged according to their deeds

3. The Reality of Eternity

a) Eternity with God
b) Eternity without God

ii) Check life
b) Caring for people
