A SPECIAL MOMENT OF WORSHIP

1. The worshippers

a) Moses
b) Aaron
c) Nadab
d) Abihu
e) Seventy of the elders of Israel

2. Seeing God

They saw the God of Israel   Exodus 24:9
a) Under the feet of God
i) A paved work of sapphire stone
ii) Like the very heavens in its clarity   Exodus 24:9
b) They saw God
Celebration: –
i) They ate
ii) And drank

3. Laying on of hands

a) No laying on of hands
b) On the nobles of the children of Israel   Exodus 24:11

GOD’S COMMAND TO MOSES

1. Come up to Me on the mountain and be there

2. And I will give you tablets of stone

3. And the law and commandments which I have written

4. That you may teach them   Exodus 24:12

RESPONSE OF MOSES

1. Moses arose and went up to the mountain

2. Joshua identified as his assistant   Exodus 24:13

A WORD TO THE ELDERS

1. Wait here for us until we come back to you

2. Aaron and Hur appointed

a) They will deal with problems/ difficulties if any
b) The people are to approach them   Exodus 24:14

MOSES ASCENDS THE MOUNTAIN

1. Moses goes up to the mountain

2. A cloud covered the mountain   Exodus 24:15

THE GLORY OF GOD

1. The glory of the LORD rested on the mountain

2. The cloud covered it for six days

3. On the seventh day God called to Moses out of the clouds   Exodus 24:16

THE SIGHT OF THE GLORY OF GOD

1. Visible to the children of Israel

2. Like a consuming fire   Exodus 24:17

MOSES IN THE MOUNTAIN OF GOD

1. He ascended into the mountain

2. He was there for forty days and forty nights   Exodus 24:18
