A WORD OF EXHORTATION FROM THE LORD

Deuteronomy 11:13-17

1. IF

a) You earnestly obey My commandments   (Deuteronomy 11:13)
b) Which I command you today
i) To love the LORD your God
ii) To serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul

2. THEN

a) I will give you the rain for your land in its seasons   (Deuteronomy 11:14)
i) The early rain
ii) The latter rain
b) That you may gather in   (Deuteronomy 11:14)
i) Your grain
ii) Your new wine
iii) Your oil
c) And I will send grass in your fields
for your livestock, that you may eat and be filled   (Deuteronomy 11:15)

3. Take heed to yourselves   (Deuteronomy 11:16)

a) Lest your heart be deceived
b) And you turn aside and serve other gods
c) And worship them

4. Lest the LORD’s anger   (Deuteronomy 11:17)

a) Be aroused against you
b) And He shuts up the heaven
c) So that there is no rain
d) And the land yields no produce
e) And you perish quickly from the good land
Which the LORD is giving you

ENCOURAGEMENT FROM MOSES

Deuteronomy 11:18-32

1. To make appropriate responses to the LORD

a) For themselves   (Deuteronomy 11:18)
b) For their children   (Deuteronomy 11:19)
c) For the household   (Deuteronomy 11:20)
d) To believe in the Lord’s promise of blessings   (Deuteronomy 11:21)

2. Specific responses

IF
a) To keep the LORD’s commandments   (Deuteronomy 11:22)
b) To love the LORD   (Deuteronomy 11:22)
c) To walk in the ways of the LORD   (Deuteronomy 11:22)
d) To hold fast to Him   (Deuteronomy 11:22)

3. Specific blessings

THEN
a) The LORD will drive out the enemies   (Deuteronomy 11:23-24)
b) No one will be able to stand against them   (Deuteronomy 11:25)

A BLESSING AND A CURSE

1. A Blessing   (Deuteronomy 11:27)
If there is obedience to the LORD
Mount Gerizim   (Deuteronomy 11:29)
2. A Curse   (Deuteronomy 11:28)
If you do not obey
Mount Ebal   (Deuteronomy 11:30)
