(II) JOSEPH IN POTIPHAR’S HOME

1. Bought Joseph from the Ishmaelite slave traders (Genesis 39:1b)

2. Became overseer of Potiphar’s household (Genesis 39:4)

(III) THE BLESSING OF THE LORD

1. The Lord was with Joseph (Genesis 39:2a)

2. He was successful in his work (Genesis 39:2b)

3. God enabled him to prosper (Genesis 39:3)

4. The hand of God was most obvious to Potiphar (Genesis 39:3)

5. Potiphar’s house was most blessed for Joseph’s sake (Genesis 39:5)

(IV) TROUBLE FROM POTIPHAR’S WIFE

1. Potiphar’s wife sought to seduce Joseph (Genesis 39:7, 10)

(V) ANGER OF POTIPHAR

1. He listened to the lies of his wife (Genesis 39:19)

2. He became angry and put Joseph in prison (Genesis 39:20)

(VI) JOSEPH IN PRISON

1. The Lord was with Joseph (Genesis 39:21a)

2. He showed him mercy (Genesis 39:21b)

3. He caused the warden to look upon Joseph with favour (Genesis 39:21c)

(VII) GOD’S BLESSINGS EVEN IN PRISON

1. Joseph helped the warden to look after all the prisoners (Genesis 39:22a)

2. He had the full backing of the warden (Genesis 39:22b)

3. Joseph was given full trust (Genesis 39:23a)

4. God blessed all the work that Joseph did in prison (Genesis 39:23b)
