OH, HOW I LOVE YOUR LAW

The Psalmist faced hard persecution;

The trials were called his “affliction.”

Enemies used their wits to persecute him;

Wisdom from God enabled him to avoid sin.

The Psalmist was grateful for his teachers;

They had shared knowledge as treasures.

But his understanding increased deeply;

He was wiser than his teachers eventually.

The ancients were revered for their understanding;

The Psalmist found his study of God’s word rewarding.

He discovered truths that God Himself revealed;

The profound wisdom from God was no longer concealed.

The Psalmist was grateful for the Lord’s law;

It showed him many common human flaws.

Meditation on God’s word became precious;

Wisdom was a gift from God that is glorious!
