TRACING THE LORD’S HAND IN THE HISTORY OF ISRAEL

“The LORD executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.”   Psalm 103:6

1. Tracing the Lord’s hand of righteousness

a. To His people, He will show His righteousness
b. The prophecy concerning Israel being oppressed   Gen. 15:12-16
i. They will be afflicted and will serve Egypt for 400 years
ii. The Lord will judge Egypt
iii. In the fourth generation, Israel will return and conquer Canaan
c. The Lord knows the plight of the oppressed
d. The people cried out to the Lord   Exo. 2:23-25
e. He remembered His covenant with Abraham

2. Tracing the Lord’s hand of justice   Gen. 15:14

a. To His enemies, God will execute justice
b. He is a God of justice
i. He will execute judgment on the people of Egypt
ii. He will bring about justice

THE LORD REVEALING HIS WAYS

“He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.”   Psalm 103:7

2. God demonstrating His great acts to the children of Israel   Exo. 7-14

a. He brought judgment to Egypt
i. 10 plagues on Egypt
ii. He showed forth His powerful acts
b. He was upholding justice
i. He brought justice upon Pharaoh and the Egyptians
ii. They had oppressed the people of Israel for 400 years
iii. God brought about strong judgment on Egypt.
c. The children of Israel saw the great acts of God

4. Thankfulness to bless the Lord always
