IN FEAR OF YOU

Text: Psalm 5

THE FEAR OF THE LORD

We begin a new Pulpit theme starting this Sunday. We will explore the theme of “The Fear of the Lord.” This theme is relevant and is also of significance.

7 But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy;
In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple.

Lead me, O LORD, in Your righteousness because of my enemies;
Make Your way straight before my face.     Psalm 5:7-8

a) David faced many enemies 

b) These were bloodthirsty and deceitful people   Psalm 5:6

  1. The knowledge of God included the following:

a) The mercy of God

b) The righteousness of God

c) The worship of God

THE PRACTICE OF THE FEAR OF GOD

David chose the fear of God above the fear of wicked men. He refused to be cowed by the threats of his enemies. He chose to trust in God’s leading.

  1. He chose to seek God in prayer
  1. He believed that God would hear and deliver him
  1. He had great trust in the Lord as his King and God
  1. He exercised his trust in God with all his heart and soul

Let us learn how we can exercise our faith in the Lord our God too!
