THE SAME SPIRIT OF FAITH

Text: 2 Corinthians 4

THE GIFT OF FAITH

Thank God that we can have a genuine faith, even if it is not always a powerful or dynamic one. Let us be encouraged to develop our faith in God.

13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak, 

14 knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you. 

15 For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.     2 Corinthians 4:13-15

  1. The spirit of faith

a) Faith is not just made of doctrines

b) There is also “a spirit of faith”

  1. There is knowledge of faith in God

a) Knowledge of God

b) Knowledge of His power to raise the Lord Jesus from the dead

There is God’s provision of grace

a) This grace is available to all who have faith

b) It should cause us to be filled with thanksgiving

c) May all of the above bring glory to God

FAITH MUST BE EXERCISED

In order for faith to be better appreciated, it must be exercised. 

  1. First, we must know what we believe in
  1. Then, we must seek to express our faith effectively

a) Faith is expressed in words

b) It is also to be expressed in works

Let us seek to apply all the lessons we have learned. May the Lord be glorified as we exercise our faith!
