THE LOVE OF GOD POURED OUT

Text: Romans 5
6 April 2025

ANTICIPATING EASTER

We will be celebrating Easter Sunday on 20 April 2025. What may we celebrate at Easter? There are many things we may celebrate and rejoice in.

1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 

2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 

3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 

4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 

5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.     Romans 5:1-5

  1. Rejoice in our Salvation

a) We stand “justified by faith”

b) We have peace with God

c) These are only possible through the Lord Jesus Christ

  1. Rejoice in our Hope of the glory of God

a) We have access to God right here and now

b) We have a glorious hope in God in heaven 

c) We have a deep sense of assurance of a home in heaven with God

  1. Rejoice in the Love of God

a) We may face hard times

b) But we may glory in the Lord amidst life’s challenges

c) We can fully rejoice in the reality of God’s love for us!

We rejoice in all of these things at Easter especially. We have all of these blessings because of the salvation given to us through the Lord Jesus Christ!
