I HAVE GIVEN YOU AN EXAMPLE
(A Holy Communion Poem)
Carefully, Jesus taught His disciples many things;
His desire was to see that they become more inspiring.
He showed them how faith may be applied in ministry;
To be stalled in faith for any reason would lead to futility.
Consciously, Jesus sought to help His disciples to grow further;
He spared no effort to help them put faith and action together.
He was aware that they struggled to do this effectively;
There was a disconnect when applying faith in ministry.
Wisely, Jesus knew what He needed to do to impact His disciples;
He would show them how to serve in the humblest way possible!
He donned the garments of the lowest rank of the slaves;
He washed His disciples’ feet…they didn’t know where to hide their face!
Powerfully, this lesson was imparted to all the disciples;
They must seek to practise being genuinely humble.
The Example of Jesus must be imprinted on the soul;
Only then would one be able to speak of being whole!
