THE ROYAL DAUGHTER
A royal marriage is described in this Psalm;
It is the wedding celebration of the King’s Son.
He is the feted King whose reign is forever;
Who would be the Bride of this royal Messiah?
The King enjoys unique sovereignty;
He can confer on anyone true royalty.
The Bride is greatly honoured by the King;
She would be provided with everything.
The meaning of this Psalm is symbolic;
The imagery chosen is emblematic.
The Church is the Bride of Christ;
Her rise in status is a happy surprise.
The station of the Bride of Christ is glorious;
That the Church must live up to its calling is obvious!
May we make every effort as a Church to glorify God!
Let us exult in the King, The Messiah, the Lord!
