MY HEART IS STEADFAST
There were times when David was fearful;
Awareness of his enemies made life stressful.
They were wicked and they were out to kill.
David sought to find grace to be still.
The servants of King Saul were near;
But this time David felt no fear.
His focus was on the Lord’s glory;
He would trust in His great mercy.
David found that his heart was steadfast;
His prayer for courage was answered at last.
He was not afraid of the might of his enemies;
His steadfast faith brought a deep sense of peace.
His heart was set on singing to the LORD;
His soul was focused on the glory of God.
He had found steadfastness in his heart;
Surely God, from him, would not depart!
