THE HOUR HAS COME
(A Communion Poem)
Jesus was never afraid of the Hour of His death,
He determined He would serve till His last breath.
He spoke of His death as His Hour of glorification,
He served His Father with distinctive devotion!
The philosophy of His life was simple but profound;
He based it on His love for God and this was sound.
He had always loved His Father and thus He served;
He would lay down His life for His flock without reserve.
He urged His Disciples to have a deeper understanding;
He encouraged them to discern the depth of His reasoning.
They must not be afraid to lay down their life for the Lord;
There was a great and definite Hope of being with God!
A life that is lived selfishly will never amount to much at all;
A true disciple must be able to respond fully to God’s call.
Jesus was the Perfect Example of what it means to serve God;
May our hearts be moved to serve Him with full accord!
