FOR THIS CHILD I PRAYED
(Dedicated to all Mothers)
Hannah is a wonderful model of a mother who prayed;
Long before she was a mother, prayers to God were laid.
She had grieved that she was unable to bear a child;
Added to her sorrow were taunts, painful and wild.
In humble prayer she poured out her heart to God;
She wept but she refused to give up faith in the Lord.
In His mercy, God answered the prayers of her heart;
She would have a son who will, from sin, stand apart!
Hannah continued to be faithful to God indeed;
She had found the Lord in her time of need.
Praise was offered when answers came;
She determined to praise God’s holy name!
Let all godly mothers learn to pray much more;
Forsake worries but choose prayer as the core.
Let God Himself teach about true motherhood;
In the light of the Bible may life be understood.
