THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH
Sorrow filled the hearts at the thought of Jesus’s death,
How could they carry on when He takes His last breath?
Who would teach them and guide them through life?
How would they survive in all the world’s strife?
Jesus assured His disciples that they had nothing to fear,
They would not be as orphans, He would always be near.
The Spirit of Truth would come with all of His power,
He would stay with them in the most critical hour.
He would come with a purpose that’s clear and clean
He would convict the wicked world of its deadly sins.
He would teach disciples to focus on Jesus the Lord,
He would bind them as one with love’s strong cord.
There was no need for sorrow to grieve the heart,
The Spirit of Truth would bid sadness to depart.
He has come to fulfill the next part of God’s Plan,
He would now dwell in the hearts of believing men.
