THAT YOU MAY BELIEVE
Every Bible writer writes with clear goals in mind,
John wrote to share his faith in Jesus with mankind.
He had come to believe in Jesus and saw his life blessed,
He saw many people without faith and in great distress.
He was moved and inspired by the Spirit of God,
To write a gospel and share it with many abroad.
He wrote from a perspective of one who was there,
He selected some of the great signs of Jesus to share.
He wrote with honest candour and great integrity,
He sought to tell about the life of Jesus with simplicity.
Behind the stories were great lessons to be learned,
Only the truly sincere would seek to prayerfully discern.
John knew the blessings that come with true belief,
Everlasting life would be given to all who receive.
He proclaimed Jesus as the Christ, the Son of God,
He wrote that you may believe and find life in the Lord.
