AND YET I AM NOT ALONE

AND YET I AM NOT ALONE

Alone… Many fear this word more than physical pain,
That the disciples needed to learn this…that was plain!
They feared that they would be all alone if Jesus were to die,
The thought of Jesus’ death caused all of them to cry.

The disciples struggled with what Jesus taught,
The way ahead seemed to be with danger fraught.
Jesus was sure that this was the path He must walk,
But the disciples continued to fear as Jesus talked.

His warning about their flight they could not grasp,
His words that He would be left all alone, made them gasp.
But the Father’s precious Presence would be with Him,
In the midst of darkness He had a Light that never dims.

Jesus knew that many fear trials and tribulation,
But there can be good cheer and jubilation!
He has overcome the world, there is no need to fear,
The Presence of the Lord can dry up every tear.
