THE TRUE LIGHT
He came into the world on a quiet night,
Only some poor shepherds were given the light.
He was the mighty, living Word of God,
Through Him the whole wide world was wrought.
He came into the world to give it light,
It suffered from darkness that oppressed the right.
He had a witness to bear testimony for Him,
There were some who were glad and repented from sin.
The message He brought was a glorious one,
Those who believed on Him could become God’s sons.
But the world did not choose the path that was right,
Instead it continued to walk in paths of night.
The Word walked on earth as an ordinary Man,
But those who truly knew Him appreciated His plan.
He would not win people by His great power,
They must choose to believe in decision’s hour.
Those who come to faith discover in Him,
Great grace and love that never grow dim.
They have rejected the darkness of night,
For they have found in Christ, the true light!
