I AM THE DOOR

I AM THE DOOR

The Good Shepherd must constantly look for new pastures,
He knows that new terrain hides many grave dangers.
There were wolves abroad that would stalk the lambs and the sheep,
The Good Shepherd would not allow anything to lull Him to sleep.

He would find new pastures for the sheep in the land,
He purposed in His heart He would be faithful to the end.
No matter what hard challenges He may find along the way,
Even the toughest circumstances will not be able, His heart, to sway.

But what should He when the sun has gone down?
He could not let His poor sheep just lie on the ground.
He would find a safe place where His sheep may rest for the night,
He Himself, would stand guard overt them, with God as His Light.

“I am the Door,” He reminds His lambs and His sheep,
He had pledged Himself, God’s flock, to keep.
He would be at the entrance of the sheepfold at the risk of His life,
He was not afraid of any kind of attack, no matter how rife.

How blessed are the sheep and lambs that have Jesus as the Door,
They would always be protected from the wicked lion’s roar.
The sheep may be troubled when they sense the Enemy’s presence,
But faith in the Door of the sheep, brings a sense of great assurance.
